My life in Singapore Taipei. And then some.

Why settle for one bowl of Mongolian BBQ when you can pack in two? Trick No. 1 for the “one time thru” option.

When the sun came out today, I missed my old ‘68 Mustang… it’s definitely a “summer car”. Plus, it’s really fun to drive.

When I originally purchased the car, it pretty much was a bucket of bolts. Now the vehicle has a rebuilt 289 engine with a 4-barrel carb, rebuilt tranny, new dual exhaust and new wheels/tires. It also has a fresh royal blue paint job to accompany completely replaced chrome, bumpers and decals.

I’d say it almost looks new, considering it’s a 38 year old car. Too bad I sold it last fall!

The last six months of USTA men’s tennis league ended well tonight… we played in the Northern Oregon Championship Finals and pulled out a 3-2 win! Now we advance to sectionals in August against other Pacific Northwest champions from Alaska, Idaho, Washington, and British Columbia. Nick and I won our doubles match 7-6, 6-3.

Went to the Beaverton Farmer’s Market this morning and picked up some fresh asparagus, along with an assortment of other veggies. But, I couldn’t resist the fresh strawberry shortcake… the breakfast of champions.

Lots of strawberries. Yum!

The view from my balcony at the SF Grand Hyatt Hotel. The sliding glass door said it was only supposed to open four inches for safety reasons, but something was broken and it opened all the way. It was nice to get a cool breeze coming in at night.

Usually when I thought about “wouldn’t it be cool if…” scenarios about my house this never came to mind. A television in the bathroom. Why didn’t I think of this before? This would eliminate the trail of toothpaste between the bathroom and the bedroom TV for sure!

We went out to Sauvie Island again this weekend to pick strawberries. 15 pounds of them to be exact. Anyway, about half way through I remembered a joke I thought was funny when I was five or six years old. How do you make a strawberry shake? Take it to a scary movie!

So, as a kitten PK fell off the second floor balcony to the hardwood floor below. Twice. Did she land on her feet? Who knows? But, if I had to place a bet on it I would say no. Sometimes it shows. Like today, I was in the office and heard a strange scratching sound… like claws on metal. I came out to find this scene. Kitty at the top of the ladder. Stuck. Can’t get down. Waiting for a rescue.

Okay, I really like to sharpen lawn mower blades. I think it’s mostly because of all the sparks, but the ground metal smell isn’t bad either.
